HHM X Stories Of Hope | 父亲发怒是因为Faith 要来新加坡当女佣

经历过的困难都不是白费的

When she was 18, Faith’s father pointed his gun right at her as he was angry that she had applied to work as a domestic helper in Singapore. But Faith wanted to get far away from home… Her parents were alcoholics; her mum was also a gambler. When Faith arrived from the Philippines, her first employer abused her. She was once beaten over her head, bled, and brought to the hospital. However, Faith soon met her new employers who loved her like a daughter. Faith recalls, “They treated me like their daughter… I never knew the love of parents before this.” She later fell in love with a Singaporean man and got married. However, her jealousy and insecurity led to arguments. Faith says, “My life was a mess. I was searching for happiness. My husband’s love never felt enough.” Amid her struggle, Faith met a Filipina friend who told her about God. In 2011, Faith became a Christian, hoping for God to transform her life. Slowly, Faith and her husband grew to become more loving to each other. God has also taught her to be a more caring mum to her three children. Faith also forgave her parents, praying for God to help them know Jesus. One day, her father unexpectedly fainted and went into a coma. After he awoke, he began reading the Bible and going to church. Today, Faith’s parents and her siblings serve God and lead a church and she thanks God for transforming her life, and for making the impossible possible. “Only God can turn a mess into a message, a test into a testimony.”
